Book Description
At first sight, Jenna may look like the typical cute blonde girl with amazing curves and a manipulative smile. Yet what many don’t know is that she’s an active member of the Paranormal Victims Society and a deadly fighter who was trained in several martial arts. She’s also a hybrid with a fascination for vampires and resentment for werewolves.
Saving her best friend, Jade, from the kidnappers, puts Jenna face to face with her soulmate—a werewolf Alpha. Panicking, Jenna does the only thing that comes to mind—she tries to kill him.
Alexander believes he’s protecting the daughter of a dear friend from vampires. In reality, he stole the beloved of a powerful vampire who will stop at nothing to get her back. After being mateless for decades, he wasn’t expecting to find his soulmate amidst a battle, or that she would despise what he was.
Trapped in an underwater research facility, the sexy Alpha has a few days to convince his elusive mate that they are meant to be and that he’s the last person she should fear.

PROLOGUE
Vampires are real, and so are werewolves. More than forty years ago, they announced their existence to the world, and they have been revered ever since. Humans want to be like them, and they will do anything to become their eternal partner and be turned.
Reality shows have become vampires’ number one form of promotion. The rich people are mostly old vampires. They managed to create synthetic blood to satisfy their needs. Technology has blossomed, and the world’s population has diminished. Renewal energies are a reality, and we have cars that can shift into an aircraft and take us really fast over long distances.
One would think that we live in an idyllic world, but that was far from the truth. Poverty is still a reality, and humans are easy prey to supernatural creatures that don’t like to follow the rules.
Not all vampires drink synthetic blood, and not all werewolves like to share their world with humans. Some packs still believe in the purity of their bloodline, and when one of their members finds their mate in the form of a human, they hunt them down and kill them.
Vampires aren’t much worse but, at least, they don’t mind when their mate is human. There are a lot of rules that prevent a human of becoming a vampire. There are registries, and unsanctioned vampires are put to death by sun exposure—the worst kind of death to them. Still, vampires are allowed to have their beloved—their soulmate—turned. That is where the concept to the popular reality show ‘Who Wants to Be A Vampire’ came from.
My best friend that I consider a sister, Jade, was chosen one night to participate. Against her will, I might say, but she had signed a contract, and we’d never expected that among all the raving fans, she would be one of the chosen ones. I was there, and I manipulated my way in so I could keep an eye on her.
You see, Jade was terrified of vampires. She had her reasons. Luckily, the one who chose her turned out to be a decent person and her own and only true mate. She reluctantly gave Daniel a chance, and they were happy until Jade’s past came knocking on her door and she was kidnapped.
That is where my story starts. I left with Daniel, Jade’s vampire husband, to save my best friend, and things became a bit complicated.
My name is Jenna Hawthorn, for the majority of people I play the part of the pretty blonde who just wants to have fun, but I’m so much more than that. Jade’s kidnapper is about to find out that he messed with the wrong family.
Chapter One
Jenna’s POV
I’m used to having people underestimating my abilities. It must have something to do with being a woman with an innocent face, long blonde hair, and slim figure. I would underestimate me too if I found me in a dark alley, looking like prey for vampires. Not that I ever found myself in that situation. I’m smarter than I look. I also smell like a human which gives me an advantage when it comes to facing the creatures that populated humans’ nightmares for centuries.
If others choose to judge me by my appearance, that’s their problem, not mine. Don’t hate me because I look so fragile, but I end up kicking your ass.
I don’t go announcing the world that I’m a werewolf and human hybrid. For what everybody knows, my parents are human. My real father, the one who supplied the DNA werewolf, is dead. Good riddance to the bastard who raped and tried to kill my mother because she wasn’t a pureblooded werewolf like himself. She was lucky to have survived and found the amazing man who created and taught me everything I knew about fighting and stood up for myself. Papa Jack is my real dad. But I digress.
My fighting abilities were what took me to this moment, where I have a werewolf teen girl in front of me. She believes that she can stop me from moving on inside that underwater compound and find my best friend, Jade. Her Alpha had kidnapped my friend, and I tagged along with Jade’s vampire husband, Daniel, to save her.
Daniel had moved on, and I was left to take care of this nuisance.
“Just fight already,” my opponent muttered as she observed my stance.
I grinned at her and placed myself in an upright position with legs shoulder-wide apart, and my hands closed in a fist in front of my face.
“Tell me your name,” I requested.
“What for?”
“Oh, I just like to know the name of who I defeat,” I said as I launched a quick fast punch from my guarding position aimed at her jaw.
The teen evaded it, swirling her hip and counterattacking me. Just as I had expected.
Smirking, I swirled my body to turn around myself and smashed a power rotated punch against her nose and mouth. She took it like a champ and only moved back two steps before her face became red, and blood dripped from her nose.
My attack infuriated her since she growled and punched right and left without a clear perspective of what she was doing. Her coordinated punches and kicks were reckless and easy to evade. It showed me that she had a lot to learn about how to study her opponent and use the agility of her female body to get the upper hand in a fight against a stronger opponent. Still, I mentally gave her extra brownie points for trying.
Once she was out of breath, it was my turn to counterattack and end that dance between us. I had other opponents to obliterate so I could help Daniel save Jade.
The girl stopped to catch her breath before resuming her sequence of jabs and uppercuts. When she raised her leg to hit my left side, I pushed it with my left arm, and then I rotated my torso and hips to increase the propulsion of my fist against her chin. The impact made her lose her rec
oil back, and I used that opportunity to turn over myself and slam my arm across her chest, between her breasts and her throat. The lack of breathing made her lose her reaction. I needed her unconscious, so I used the opportunity to grab her head and slam it against the wall. The pop sound and her eyes closing announced that she was out of commission. Releasing her, her body dropped to the floor.
I mused a few seconds over her unconscious body. I might have exaggerated in the use of strength, and the girl needed a doctor. She was just a kid and couldn’t be more than seventeen.
Tuning my senses around my surroundings, I heard noise on the right intersection in the corridor. Grabbing the girl by her leg, I dragged her behind me as I searched for the commotion and my assault team partners.
Perhaps Daniel had already saved Jade. Still, the noise meant that Daniel and his men were fighting against the enemy. He had taken Jade’s tracker with him, and I just had my enhanced hearing to guide me to him.
Speaking of those enhanced senses, my nose was picking up something peculiar that was triggering feelings of excitement and anxiety. Something was smelling delicious somewhere in that compound. The smell made shivers run up and down my spine while agitated butterflies created havoc in my stomach. Whatever it was, it was just around the corner, and my heart skyrocketed.
The next events happened faster than I could have foreseen. Once I turned right in the next intersection, all my senses locked on the man fighting Daniel. But I didn’t have time to comprehend the pull because my instincts alerted me that another werewolf was coming my way with a rather pissed expression. His eyes were glowing, and his face was almost shifting to his wolf counterpart. This one smelled strong and looked pissed. I didn’t saw him as enticing as the other fighting Daniel, though. But I wasn’t there to make friends or crush over werewolf males.
Letting go of the girl’s leg, I focused on the guy coming my way like an enraged bull ready to crash me against a wall. His arrival took forever since I had time to make assumptions about who was the male fighting Daniel. I was rather sure that it was the leader of the pack, the Alpha, and that explained why my senses were acting out and I found him attractive. Alphas reek power and sex appeal. Plus, I recognized him from the picture I have seen in Daniel’s office. Alexander was even more attractive in flesh and bone. The picture didn’t give him enough credit.
I should be losing my sanity if I was letting my focus go to hell because of a good-looking werewolf alpha.
Annoyed, I shook my head and hissed. Then I registered that the Alpha was staring at me too. He had pushed Daniel aside and seemed stuck to the floor as our eyes locked, and my body shivered in response. My legs quivered, and I almost lost control of my body and headed his way.
The Alpha yelled at the other werewolf, but I didn’t catch what he said. Still, it was enough to snap out of it and duck to the werewolf attack, grab the guy by his waist, and propel my feet to catapult the guy in the air. Flipping him around, I smashed his body, upside down, against the wall. His head faced the ground and his feet the ceiling. The force of the impact had left him without reaction.
I muffled a giggle against my hand as I tilted my head and watched his back slid down the wall, and he remained quiet with eyes focusing the ceiling.
I leaned over him. “Did I hurt your mate? Is that why you were so mad when you saw me coming?”
Gritting his teeth, clearly flustered, he moved his arms and willed his body to move.
I stepped back and waited for him to get up. Apparently, he wanted another round with me.
Picking himself up, he brushed his clothes and checked me out. I rolled my eyes with his sly grin.
“Really?” I folded my arms. “Do you want me to bump your head against the wall again?”
“She’s my sister, not mate,” he slurred.
“Oh, sorry. But she’s alive. I didn’t hit her too hard.”
“I don’t like when people hurt my sister,” he informed me, narrowing his eyes again.
“She’s started. I asked her politely to move away to let me pass.”
He frowned and opened his arms before moving forward.
Jumping back, I groaned. “I don’t like hugs from strangers. Just be a good wolf and let me talk to your alpha.”
I didn’t need to escape his attempts to grab me again. Before I could say another word, the guy’s body was slammed into the wall, and the big bad Alpha was growling menacingly at him.
“What the hell,” I mumbled, frowning at both werewolf males.
“Don’t ever do that again,” Alexander groaned in front of the dude’s face.
I scratched my head. Why was the Alpha hitting his own pack member?
“A-alpha,” the guy gasped.
“Mate,” Alexander growled with heavy breathing.
“Mate,” the other repeated.
“Oh, you are both mates! That’s so cute,” I chimed, clapping my hands at the display of affection or whatever that was. “I didn’t want to hurt your mate. He just came like a bull, and I had to defend myself.”
I puckered my lips, unsure why I kept apologizing to everybody for whooping their asses.
“Okay, this is getting weird. Can we just stop with the nonsense and talk like grown-up adults?”
My vision was distracted by the Alpha’s tight butt inside his pants. Why all the good ones play in the opposite team? I had no idea. Still, I had to help Daniel. He was at the end of the corridor, trying to calm down my bestie who seemed rather scared. She and her mate looked cute together. Daniel was super sweet with her, and he truly was head over heels for Jade.
By the corner of my eye, I noticed movement between the alpha and his mate. The alpha’s hand reached out, and before he attacked me, I grabbed his wrist, turned the guy’s arm around, flipped a leg over his arm, and made him do a backflip and land heavily on the ground.
That sneaky alpha had tried to catch me off-guard! It was all my fault for being so damn distracted.
Straightening up, I faced the other guy and waited for him to attack me. But he raised his hands in the air before pursing his lips tight and burst into laughter. He seemed amused for what I had just done to his alpha. He should be pissed not amused. Those two werewolves must be high on some psychedelic drug.
Putting my hands on my waist, I asked the guy, “What the hell is so funny about this?”
Grabbing my arm, Alexander pulled me down, and I landed on top of him. At first, I cussed for being so damn stupid and lower my guard. Then, I realized that I had fallen straight into his arms with his ripped torso cushioning my fall. Worse, his scent hit me stronger than ever. He smelled like heaven, and I couldn’t stop looking at his beautiful face and mesmerizing eyes.
Hot spread up my chest and neck before red covered my cheeks. All will to fight him disappeared as I lost myself in his green eyes and his hands rested on my lower back.
Chapter Two
Jenna’s POV
Alexander’s breath feathered my face as he spoke. “You are not a vampire.”
I rolled my eyes. “Really? I didn’t know that.”
Even if I was trying to appear immune to him, the fact was that there was a strange pull and he smelled better than anything I had ever experienced. It didn’t hurt that he was unbelievably hot.
Our bodies were pressed against another, and I was trapped inside his strong arms.
Whatever that was, he was going to have a rude awakening because I didn’t hook up with werewolves for a good reason, and I wasn’t going to fall for his charms. The asshole had kidnapped my best friend.
“Let me go, creep,” I ordered, pushing my hands against his torso so I could escape the unwelcomed closeness between us.
“Allow me,” the other guy said, offering his hand for me to get up.
Alexander let me go, and I got up and dusted my clothes.
Peeping at them, I asked, “Did the vampires drug you two with a different sleeping potion?”
Alexander stood up, but his eyes seemed glued
to my image. He and his friend were undoubtedly high on something. That behavior wasn’t normal.
Narrowing my eyes at him, I asked, “Do I have something on my face?”
Alexander shook his head, and the other guy chuckled before turning to his alpha and mutter, “I still don’t like her. She hurt Sabrina.”
As if he remembered his sister, his head snapped to the place where Sabrina was unconscious. He walked to her and took her in his arms.
The hot alpha and I were left facing each other. My body tensed as my rationality told me that I should fight him while my heart was telling me that the last thing we should do was fighting. I could only assume that these mix feelings had something to do with the notorious Alpha’s power of persuasion.
Wolf leaders had the power to submit weaker werewolves to their will. But I wasn’t a weak wolf. Hell, I wasn’t even a full wolf.
The Alpha’s mouth opened to say something, but before he could a flying dart hit him in his shoulder.
When I looked at the source of the dart, I saw Daniel with a gun. The vampire had shot him. Still, instead of falling down unconscious, the Alpha took the dart and growled at Daniel.
I mentally cursed the moment I saw his eyes change. Werewolves changing eyes wasn’t a good sign. Before I could further elaborate my thoughts, Alexander had reached Daniel, and they were exchanging punches.
Instead of wanting to protect Daniel, my heart beat fast, and I feared for Alexander.
“Alexander, stop. Stop! Please stop.” Jade reached Daniel and the alpha and tried to break up their fight. “Please stop, both of you. We need to talk.”
It was Jade’s action that made me snap out of my trance.
Rushing to Jade’s side, I yelled, “Jade, don’t!”
